A friend recently flew over the Barren islands and reported seeing a large number (30-40) whales, including blues, fins and humpbacks. There were a surprising number of the blues.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned when fishing the Kenai you need to be conscious of bears. Chances of having problems with bears are not likely if waste is handled correctly and bear safety is practiced. But be mindful they are there and need to be respected.

I have a gold block that is 3 inches long 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. It weighs aprox. 6 pounds or more. On the front at the top is a nazi symbol inlaid in silver and below that is a funny looking face. It looks and feels like gold, weight wise I mean but not sure what it is and very curious about it. It was in an attic in Scagway, Alaska where my father was pulling down rafters fixing things up and this "thing" fell down from the rafters and was wrapped in newspaper in a small box. This was many many years ago. Can anyone elaborate on what this could be.

We will be arriving on the Amsterdam on Fri. July 30th and would like to go on the Yukon adventure and would like mostly to see lake Bennet and the restored station there. Can this be worked out for us? I notice a lot of departures are quite early in the morning and this may not work out for us. Will it? Also would like to the cost. We previously enjoyed the summit and Carcross trips on separate occasions. Thanks, Al
